The night started
off normally and soon turned to a night fans will
remember and talk about for a long time to come. The
scariest episode of the night occurred in the Hobby
Feature when David Grogan reportedly lost his steering
and rode on top of the guard rail around turns one and
two. Grogan's #37 car eventually flipped back on the
track on it top and burst into flames. Needless to say
fans were startled with the wreck and stood in silence
as the fire was put out. Grogan came out of the car and
appeared to be uninjured. his car was pretty much
destroyed in the fire. After fans saw Grogan out
of the car they all gave a long sigh of relief.
In other action Doug English won
another super Late Model Main event. But this win came
after Randy Nichols kept his 03 on the bumper, or along
side the USA 1 for many laps. Melvin English fought off
a determined team mate, David McCoy, to take the limited
win. Jimmy Feltman was the Crate Late Model winner, and
Bobby Hill won the Hobby Feature.
In the Street Enduro Main event, Spur
Wiley returned to the track to take the win. Spur, who
had open heart surgery a few weeks ago, looked to be on
top of the racing. Justin Lord and Wayne Beck won the
Stock 4 and Bomber Features.
